Florida Deputy Comforts Injured Dog After Accident — A Quiet Act of Kindness That Touched Thousands

Not only comforting and petting the little dog, the policeman also used his uniform to shield it.

Recently, a photo of a policeman protecting and comforting an injured dog after a traffic accident has been widely circulated on social networking sites.

In the photo, a policeman named Joshua Fiorelli from Florida, USA, is sitting on the grass, constantly stroking the head of an injured dog while waiting for the animal control center staff to come and help. Not only that, he also used his uniform to shield it.

The photo was accidentally taken by a passerby named Carlos Irizzy and shared this act of kindness on social networks. Carlos said that on the morning of December 16, he was walking his dog along Royal Palm Drive in Kissimmee when he suddenly saw this scene.

Although other people noticed and took pictures, Fiorelli did not know that. At that moment, all his thoughts seemed to be on the injured dog, how to make it less afraid.

Sharing about this beautiful act, Fiorelli said: “It was very cold. The dog was soaked. No one was with it and I spent time with it. I know many dogs are often afraid and more defensive when they are injured. However, this little dog was not at all.”

The dog is currently recovering at the Osceola County Animal Shelter. The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office also praised the officer’s actions.
