A Heartfelt Goodbye to Millie 💔🐾

It’s been months since Millie passed, and I wasn’t sure I was ready to share this. Losing a dog is one of the hardest things to go through. The impact they have on your family is immeasurable, and their presence is something that can’t truly be explained — it’s something only understood by those who’ve experienced it.

I wanted to share this to help normalize the painful reality that, for dog owners, this part of the journey is inevitable. Some things must come to an end, and we often forget how it affects our other animals. But they know. Lola knew. She cried, pawed at Millie, and tried to wake her up.

Some might say it’s wrong to let the other dogs see their friend like that, but dogs are so intelligent. It’s not fair to shield them from the truth. They need to understand, too. Imagine being a dog and thinking your lifelong companion just disappeared without saying goodbye. Over time, Lola was okay again. She understood that life must go on.

In today’s world, I truly believe dogs need to witness these moments to fully grasp what’s happened. I know some may disagree, but this is our story, and I wanted to share it.

I’m sorry if this post upsets anyone, but as we said, this is a part of life, and everything must come to an end. We miss you so much, Millie. You were so special. You helped shape me into a better person, raised my children, and welcomed new dogs into our family. You were the best mama dog ever. You’ll never be forgotten.
