Despite her precarious condition, a mother will never allow her puppies to suffer, or worse, die. The dog at the center of these events is one of these mothers who, despite her extremely fragile condition, refused to give up nursing her little puppies. This courageous dog is named Hope and was abandoned long before she went into labor.

Hope was found by an activist. When she saw the dog for the first time, she immediately noticed that she was skin and bones. Later, however, she noticed something even more shocking: the underweight dog was nursing her puppies! The young woman declared that in her entire career as an activist, she had never witnessed anything so heartbreaking. I went to feed all the dogs until I noticed Hope, a female not even half the size of a dog of her breed, who could barely walk, approached me with sparkling eyes.

The woman, without thinking twice, hugged Hope. Once she had pushed the new mother aside, she noticed that there were 10 puppies under her. Unfortunately, four of them had not been able to cope with the harsh conditions they were in and had died.

The puppies and their mother, Hope, were duly cared for. Unfortunately, one member of the litter, Max, contracted a serious infection and passed away. All the others, some sooner or later, found someone who now cares for them. Lola is the last member of the litter to find a home. In fact, after seven months of foster care, Lola left to join her new family abroad. Today she lives happily with her little brother, Alex.

Hope is an example to all of us. Kindness and the ability to put the well-being of her children before her own are qualities that every new mother should possess.
