Doechii was facing a death sentence at a local shelter after suffering a devastating spinal injury. Her broken back landed her on the euthanasia list. ⁠

This paralyzed pup had stolen the hearts of the entire shelter staff. They were desperate to get her out before it was too late. They reached out to our team for help, and we contacted every rescue in our network, but everyone was too full to take her.

We knew this sweet girl deserved a chance. We didn’t have the room or the resources, but we pulled her from the shelter anyway.⁠

We immediately rushed Doechii to our vet, where she underwent a thorough exam. She had a mass on her back when she was taken in that we learned was an abscess. It was expertly drained, but we believe that Doechii is suffering from a spinal infection as well. She also has Cherry Eye (prolapsed third eyelid gland) in both eyes. It is clear that this sweet baby has had a rough start in life.⁠
