Dog smiles for the first time after receiving his first prosthetic leg
Dogs understand when they receive help and are not shy about showing gratitude when faced with a loving gesture. Turbo is an adorable dog, a golden retriever to be exact, who is 18 months old and on March 23rd he became a web celebrity thanks to a photo where he can be seen smiling. The photo was shared on Reddit by user @boobglow. The furry little puppy suffered an injury when he was just 2 weeks old, which resulted in him needing a prosthetic leg.
“We haven’t spoken to Turbo in a few months, but we hope for the best. Turbo also has other challenges with his limbs that make the adjustment period a little longer,” a staff member told the tabloids.
The company that makes the prosthetic is OrthoPets, which claims to have a variety of solutions to enable puppies to walk on all fours, and therefore stand. “In addition, we have alternatives to surgery for older people, providing support for the entire limb that needs it,” said a representative of OrthoPets.
The reddit post has reached over 18,000 reactions and hundreds of comments, some of which include: “Oh my god, what a good boy,” “He deserves the world, I’m so happy for him!”, “He looks so happy.” The purpose of the photo is to show that an animal with prosthetics is just as happy and playful as one with all its limbs. No doubt about it, but Turbo’s smile certainly makes it all the more certain!
