‘Skin and Bones’ Puppy Found With Mouth Tied Shut — Headed for a Meat Farm Before Rescue

A poor pooch abandoned on a building site in Bali had deep wire cuts around her snout and was savaged by infections before heroes from the Mission Pawsible rescue group stepped in

A “skin and bones” pup caught for the horrific dog meat trade was found with its mouth bound by a fishing line.

When brave rescuers spotted Lucy the pooch on a building site in Bali, the wire around her snout had cut so deeply into her face she had contracted parvovirus.

But the canine had a miraculous recovery after she was raced to the vet for urgent medical care.

She recovered from the savage disease before coming down with distemper and beating that too.

One of the rescuers from the Mission Pawsible rescue group told: “The poor pup was meant for the horrible and sadistic meat farms.

“We didn’t think she would make it. Her immune system had been ravaged and she was already skin and bones when we found her.

“It is a miracle that little Lucy is alive today.”

After fighting off infection at the vets, rescuers fed Lucy bone broth from a syringe and showed her “all the love and care” they could.

“From the minute she was rescued, she was quiet and never made eye contact with anyone,” rescuers added.

“She would huddle in the corner of her crate and stay there for hours, only emerging to go to the bathroom.

“The trauma she must have endured before we found her was huge—she had absolutely no trust for humans.”

Now, after living with Prue, the Mission Pawsible founder, Lucy is beginning to relax and has made “amazing” progress.

“She is still cautious, but day by day, she is turning back into a happy and playful little dog,” the group says.

“Lucy loves basking in the sun and she even jumps on the coach and sleeps with her buddies – something she would never do when she first arrived.

“Lucy is an example of how a little bit of patience and a whole lot of love goes a long way.
