11-year-old boy risks his life to save dog after car accident

Children can sometimes be much more mature than adults. In fact, when we are young, we tend to be much kinder and more loyal, doing good deeds only out of necessity, rather than out of chance as adults often do. When we find ourselves in front of an injured animal, children are even more understanding.

On the streets of Itajaí, Brazil, an 11-year-old boy ran into the street without thinking when he saw a poor little dog that had been run over by a car.

On the streets of Itajaí, Brazil, a dog was accidentally hit and left in pain on the street. Upon seeing the dog, an 11-year-old boy named Jean Fernandes immediately ran into the street to try to help the dog.

Although there were other people nearby, Jean, despite his young age, was the only one who immediately ran to save the dog. So, after picking up the dog and bringing it to the side of the road, the nearest veterinary center to the accident site was immediately contacted.

Although the dog was very scared, it still let the boy take it, perhaps realizing that it just wanted to help the boy.

A little hero.

The dog was taken to the Animal Disease Control Center, and veterinarian Denilson da Silva said that incidents like this happen all the time. In fact, he treats dogs that have been hit by cars at least once a week.

The man also advised them not to take the dog and wait for someone to come rescue it, as it might bite out of fear and pain.

Fortunately, Jean did not encounter this situation, thanks to the dog’s understanding of the situation. The puppy is now fine and receiving all the necessary care, and has been named Mel.
