Three-Legged Pup Proves That Hope and Love Stand Taller Than Any Scar

This is Sienna — a gentle and resilient greyhound whose story has already touched many hearts. She recently endured a devastating injury while being raced on an unregulated track, and her wounds were among the most severe her carers had ever seen. For a time, there was deep uncertainty about whether she would survive.

But Sienna has proven herself to be remarkably strong. With expert veterinary care and an incredible will to live, she pulled through surgery that required the amputation of one of her legs. This evening, she has returned from the veterinary clinic to the care of Forever Hounds Trust, where she will continue her recovery in a safe and nurturing environment.

Her journey is not yet over. Sienna will remain with Forever Hounds Trust until she regains her strength and confidence, at which point she will be ready to find a new home — one filled with warmth, security, and love, far away from the hardships of the racetrack.

Providing this level of care is not easy. The veterinary treatment Sienna required, like that of many other greyhounds and lurchers rescued by the Trust, comes with significant costs. Yet thanks to the generosity and compassion of supporters and donors, Sienna has been given the chance to heal and look forward to a brighter future as a cherished companion.

Her recovery will take time, and tonight marks her very first step into a safer, kinder chapter of life. Everyone involved hopes her first night back is peaceful, allowing her to begin adjusting to her new reality with comfort and reassurance.

Sienna’s story is a reminder of why Forever Hounds Trust continues its mission: to protect and care for dogs in need, to offer them safety, and to give them the chance to live not just as survivors, but as much-loved pets.
