Labrador Magnus Stays Faithfully by Owner’s Side During Hospital Stay, Bringing Comfort and Strength
This sweet-eyed Labrador Retriever is a great companion in everyday life. He also has tremendous talents as a service dog, which his owner ended up taking advantage of…
Brian Benson is the proud owner of Magnus, a Labrador Retriever dog with a beige coat. Originally from New York, this man has worked for 29 years in the world of visual and artistic effects. But Magnus turned out to have great aptitude for being a service dog.
The man decided to train his 4-legged friend and team up with him, in order to offer their help to people in need.
Lately, it has been Brian who has been able to benefit from Magnus’ talents as a service dog. Indeed, the owner of the canine had to be hospitalized, because he had felt strong pains in his chest and had difficulty breathing.
He therefore had to undergo a large number of medical examinations during this stay. The man was able to count on the unfailing support of his 2 daughters, as well as on the presence of Magnus, who was allowed to stay by his side all the time, thanks to his assistance dog diplomas.
« My daughters stayed during the visiting hours, but Magnus was able to stay with me the whole time. I’m really lucky to have him. He made it a lot more bearable. His presence relaxed me,” says Brian.
Magnus remained lying on the bed next to his master. His presence calmed his anxiety and relieved his stress for the duration of his hospitalization.
“Life is better when you have a dog”
Brian is now out of danger. He was able to leave the hospital and his condition is improving day by day. The man has to take care of his health on a daily basis and still has many medical appointments, to which Magnus does not fail to accompany him. “I have to make sure I stay healthy for as long as possible for my loved ones. Magnus is also a great help to my daughter, who has juvenile arthritis. It’s like a big stuffed animal… Life is better when you have a dog, and Magnus proves it to me day after day,” Brian told.
Brian greatly appreciates the presence and love of his 4-legged friend. “My dog will never know what it means to me. I will be grateful to him for the rest of my life,” he concludes.
